Coverage and cost, made clear

We want cost to be one less thing you have to worry about before your first session. Here's what we can tell you up front — and what's worth confirming directly with us or your insurance carrier.

No one will be denied access to services due to inability to pay. Sliding scale discount program is available based on family size and income.

Insurance

Heart 2 Soul Counseling is in-network with the following insurance carriers at the practice level. Participation still varies by individual clinician and by plan — not every therapist is in-network with every carrier.

Aetna Blue Cross Blue Shield Cigna Healthcare Community Care Behavioral Health (CCBH) Highmark Optum Quest UnitedHealthcare UPMC Health Plan UPMC for Kids (CHIP) Self-Pay
Insurance participation varies by clinician and plan. We recommend confirming your specific benefits — including copay, deductible, and any session limits — directly with your insurance carrier before your first appointment.

Self-Pay

Self-pay is accepted for anyone who prefers not to use insurance, whose plan isn't in-network with their chosen clinician, or who prefers the additional privacy that comes with not billing insurance.

Sliding-Scale Program

A limited number of sliding-scale spots are available for clients experiencing financial hardship. Eligibility criteria and application details are shared as part of client onboarding.

Cancellation & No-Show Policy

Late cancellations made within 24 hours of the scheduled appointment are subject to a $25 fee. No-shows are subject to a $50 fee.

HSA / FSA Cards

Heart 2 Soul Counseling accepts HSA and FSA cards. A separate credit card must be kept on file, since HSA/FSA cards cannot be charged for late-cancellation or no-show fees.

Good Faith Estimate

Under the No Surprises Act, clients who are not using insurance (or who choose not to submit a claim to insurance) have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate of expected charges before treatment begins. You can request one at any time — before scheduling, or before any appointment. See our Good Faith Estimate page for full details.

Frequently asked questions

How do I find out if my insurance is accepted by a specific therapist?

Insurance participation is listed on each therapist's profile page, but we recommend confirming directly with us and with your insurance carrier before your first session.

What if my therapist isn't in-network with my insurance?

You can choose to pay self-pay rates, ask about out-of-network reimbursement (some plans offer this), or discuss the sliding-scale program with our team.

Can you provide a superbill if my insurance is out of network?

Yes. A superbill can be provided for clients who wish to submit out-of-network claims to their insurance carrier.

Do you accept HSA or FSA cards?

Yes. A separate credit card must also be kept on file, since HSA/FSA cards cannot be charged for late-cancellation or no-show fees.

What happens if I miss or need to cancel an appointment?

Late cancellations within 24 hours of the scheduled appointment are subject to a $25 fee. No-shows are subject to a $50 fee.
